Primary responsibilities include payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payable, job cost accounting, cash management, quarterly payroll tax reporting, equipment costing, bank reconciliations, vendor/client communication and more.
Responsibilities
- Administer and track contracts/subcontracts and all related items.
- Prepare and submit monthly AIAs /progress billings
- Oversee certified payroll process and required documentation for all Commercial projects; ensure that payroll is updated with appropriate pay rate/fringe set up for each project (also manage and track certified payroll and required documents for subcontractors).
- Job costing, pay applications, state tax payments, and handle lien releases.
- Ensure that all costs comply with job budgets, approval, project reporting, and operating procedural requirements.
- Process and track all contracts and contract related items with clients (obtain COI, file prelim notice, change orders, progress billings.
- Communicate project accounting issues with project staff.
- Review subcontract and contract agreements and related changes.
- Interface with subcontractors concerning payment status, lien or insurance deficits and joint check requirements.
- Can perform financial analysis and multiple reports on projects.
- Work closely with the Operations team to maintain subcontractor compliance, owner billings, and cash collections.
- Supporting the CFO in managing banking operations and internal controls.
- Working with the CFO and President to identify and implement improvement plans for accounting systems within various project software.
- Assist with all internal and external audit requests.
- Serve as back-up for other accounting functions as needed/directed.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and in compliance with applicable laws
***Along with the main duties you will also be expected to carry out any other duties reasonably asked of you.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required, with 3 years of related commercial construction accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Understand accounting implications of various contract terms related to profitability and risk management
- High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Must have strong proficiency with financial systems applications and MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Must be self-starter, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations to CFO for resolution
- Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and integrity within professional environment
- Joint venture contracting and subcontracting knowledge a plus!
- Ability to communicate well with management in a clear and effective manner

- The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm (Hours may vary as they are subject to change as needed, but this is the standard day-to-day schedule).
- 4 day work weeks.

Our history:
Kaminski Construction was born in 2008 at the beginning of the Great Recession. We landed our first job and began to grow, as other construction companies were laying workers off. We have continued to grow and expand our services and now field a crew of about 28 full-time employees.
